Drawing is the foundation for all other artistic pursuits. Proportion, design, composition, line, value and form can all be mastered with a pencil on paper. Atelier students spend the first year of their training solely devoted to this artistic language. Through training their eye to see and their hand to draw they achieve the skills necessary for later explorations in paint.

Drawing has long been considered the most intimate and personal forms of artistic expression. Artists are often the biggest collectors of drawing because they know this is where the true hand of the master can be seen.
