In celebration of Juliette Aristides's highly anticipated third book, Lessons in Classical Drawing: Essential Techniques from Inside the Atelier, Gage Academy of Art was thrilled to host a release party, book signing, and a gallery exhibition that highlighted works both from the book and examples of drawings that put the fundamental drawing principles into practice.
This week we went on our 6th annual field trip to Carkeek Park in North Seattle. We partnered with the Kang-O'Higgins Atelier for drawing on location and lunch. The park has something for everyone: trails, beach, forest and fields. The trip afforded us an opportunity to work outside and to enjoy some camaraderie. I found out that our artists are equally talented in the culinary and visual arts.
